Growing Gloucestershire 2016 – Record number of tickets sold with three weeks to go

A record number of tickets have been sold with less than 20 days to go until this year’s Growing Gloucestershire Conference which is taking place on 29 June at The Growth Hub at the University of Gloucestershire Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester.

The conference attracts around 200 local business people every year and aims to provide a platform for professionals to come together for a day to learn from some of Gloucestershire’s finest speakers and to share best practice and provide networking opportunities with other business owners and managers.

Led by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the theme of the conference is around helping Gloucestershire businesses to flourish and ‘grow’. A social media masterclass has been introduced this year and will be delivered by Gloucestershire Chair of CIM, Luan Wise on “Ten things you’re (probably) doing wrong on social media, and how to fix them”. This masterclass is followed by a choice of eight talks presented by county experts under the themes of financial management, marketing, people and management.

In addition to the talks, a number of county businesses will be exhibiting at the conference. They include the institutes and conference sponsors Willans LLP and Omega Resource Group, as well as businesses like Cloudtamers, Randall and Payne, Unique PR, Roses Theatre, Consortio and GFirst LEP.

Growing Gloucestershire Conference Chair, Simon Wall, said: “We’ve planned a fantastic conference with ticket sales double what they were this time last year. I encourage you to book your ticket early before we sell out. And for anyone wishing to exhibit, we have a couple of spaces left.

“Don’t miss out on entering our business card prize draw at the registration desk with a chance to win a CIM Learn Local session valued at £125 and tickets to next year’s conference.”

Keynotes for the conference are David Drew, Chair of Forest Green Rovers FC & Community Lead on Eco Park and Jason Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Gloucester. David Drew will share news on the 100 acre £100m green development investment project at junction 13 on the M5 in the Stroud District. Jason Smith will outline the success of the physical and cultural regeneration of Gloucester so far, and share plans for driving further growth and inward investment in the county’s administrative capital.

John Rockley is the MC for the conference and David Owen, Chief Executive Officer of GFirst LEP will bring the conference to a close.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.glosprofs.com for £35 (£25 for CIM, CIMA, CIPD and CMI members booking through their institutes) and includes lunch and refreshments. The conference is open to anyone from any sector or industry.
