After many months of preparations, The Growth Hub a unique partnership between GFirst LEP and the University of Gloucestershire has opened to local businesses. In just over three weeks The Growth Hub has seen more than 200 businesses through the doors and is already discussing in-depth support with 61 of these. The team is being joined by the great and good of Gloucestershire’s business community on Wednesday 22nd October, to celebrate these early successes.
The Growth Hub is the place to go for any of Gloucestershire’s 26,000 firms seeking support or help in growing their business. From people thinking about starting up a new business right through to multi million pound businesses, all are welcome and are able to access a wide range of resources and services.
Business Minister Matthew Hancock said: “Small businesses are the cornerstone upon which our long term economic plan is built. In order for them to thrive they need the support to start up and scale up.
“The launch of The Growth Hub in Gloucestershire will help local businesses access the right services to help them grow. We are determined to make the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a business.”
The Growth Hub is based at the University of Gloucestershire’s Oxstalls Campus. Businesses are also able to access services over the phone and online at www.thegrowthhub.biz. Work is also underway on identifying other physical locations for the Hub to operate from around the county.
Laura Crabb, Director of Business Development for the University of Gloucestershire commented: “We are delighted at the number of businesses across the county who are already engaging with us and we look forward to welcoming and helping even more Gloucestershire businesses. We have recruited an outstanding team of people who have a vast amount of business experience. They are all eagerly looking forward to helping local businesses grow and access the full breadth of resources and services at The Growth Hub’s disposal.
“Any Gloucestershire business, no matter how small or large they are should give us a try and experience The Growth Hub for themselves”.
David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst, commented: “I am very excited about The Growth Hub and am looking forward to seeing what the support it will be giving to Gloucestershire businesses can achieve. Many of the resources that the Hub will deliver are free at the point of access and I would urge anyone in the county with ambitions to grow their business to get in touch and see what The Growth Hub can do for them”.
