Alistair is CEO of Laing Russell, the Cheltenham based management consultancy. Laing Russell works with organisations on developing their digital strategies and capability. Laing Russell was established in 2018 as Alistair and his colleagues concluded the sale of his previous organisation, CIO Connect. Alongside his consulting work, Alistair has recently completed a diploma in coaching and is building a portfolio of pro-bono mentoring and coaching for leaders in commerce and in the third sector.
At CIO Connect, Alistair was SVP, Advisory Services leading consultancy work with Chief Information Officers and their teams across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. Alistair lead the development of CIO Connect in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining CIO Connect, Alistair was Director for Executive Development at Durham University Business School leading the design and delivery of major change though leadership development programmes. Alistair was with PA Consulting Group for 12 years. At PA, alongside practice leadership roles, he designed and guided the implementation of a number of major consulting projects focused on organisational, systems and cultural change for clients in finance, government and manufacturing sectors. Alistair qualified as a chartered engineer and started his career in the process industry with ICI plc.
