Michael’s background was as a Strategy Director in several leading advertising and marketing communications agencies. He also spent several years as Head of Marketing in a major financial services firm and freelance consultant working both for agencies and clients.
He helped to create/ influence a number of successful brands and campaigns – one or two quite famous ones and the odd infamous one. And picked up a few prestigious awards.
Having worked on a literal A-Z of brands over the years (including X and Q!), he was lucky enough to encounter a huge variety of businesses and their problems. He has worked with some truly inspiring business people and especially, creative minds. Among the things he learnt were the power of naïve questions, such as “why would anyone care about that?” and to approach any problem with an open mind and always to listen and look at the data first.
Training and doing the occasional guest lecture have been among the most satisfying parts of his career.
